Ministries

We offer a wide range of ministries for people in all seasons of life! Tap or click below to learn more about the following ministries.

Children’s Ministry

Sunday mornings, families gather together for worship at the start of our main service, then share a minute with the pastor before dismissal to Refuge Kid’s Ministry. Classes include Nursery for our 0 - 2 year olds, PreK for 3 years to kindergarten and an Elementary class for 1st - 5th graders. Our chronological, bible-based curriculum leads kids in learning how each story fits together to tell the Big Story of God’s love and redemption through Jesus Christ. We also have seasonal events for kids throughout the year.

Youth Ministry

Teens get together to study the Bible and apply what it says to their lives. Led by our elders and deacons, we treat junior high and high school boys and girls as young men and women, not talking down to them but calling them up to maturity and a strong foundation. When we get together, we briefly review how we are all doing in school and at home, then we pray, dig into some scripture, look at church history, and review historic teaching and catechisms. We also have seasonal outings, including a summer retreat.

Meets:  1st & 3rd Sundays • 11:30am-12:30pm  Fellowship Hall

adult Ministry

At Refuge Church we are passionate about connecting and sharing in gospel living. Our goal is to see every member of Refuge Church in a community relationship, connected to others so that we all can grow in the faith. We host men's and women's studies and fellowship, co-ed Bible studies, virtual and in-person studies, Sunday morning classes and more. Check the calendar for our current crop of offerings.

Interests

Film & Theology

We engage film and culture for the glory of God with monthly film viewings, followed by a related teaching/message on narrative and spiritual themes. Typically the 3rd Friday of the month, 6:45pm. Check the calendar for details. Pastor James also co-hosts the Popcorn Theology podcast.

Heartbeat Fitness

Where EVERY BODY Belongs! Women seek wellness and health through movement to music targeting cardio, strength and endurance!  Not only will you get a great workout, but you’ll also develop great friendships! We workout together, laugh together, celebrate together and always, pray together! Tuesday/Thursday 5:30pm @ Refuge Church.

Missions & Outreach

A percentage of our weekly giving goes to support missions and outreach. We also have a “Deacon’s Fund” that goes to supplement support requests for members of our church community. We also take offerings for special needs. Every year we review how we support local and global outreach. Currently, we support the following:

Nourishing Network

The Nourishing Network partners with our local School District as a weekend meal program for the district’s homeless and low-income families. We collect food and help host a monthly pop-up pantry.
